BORDER TRUTH - Chapter 1: Invaded
Chapter 1: Invaded: The Intentional Destruction of the American Immigration System
As the dangerous situation on the border places America’s sovereignty and safety in peril, I want and need to speak louder and more concisely. Treason permeates throughout this presidential administration and the invasion of millions of illegal aliens is the vehicle they are using to fundamentally transform the United States of America.
Societal decay in our major cities has the crossed the point of no return. Residents in New York City and Chicago have packed themselves into town hall meetings with local political leaders demanding that they stop all funding of illegal alien shelters and the numerous other welfare benefits. These residents rightfully scream that the monies spent, in the millions, should be for them not foreigners that broke our laws.
Winter is coming, homeless shelters are packed, city budgets are maxed out, and the hordes of humanity are still pouring into America.
Special Interest Aliens and terrorists are here inside our broken walls by the hundreds of thousands. Just yesterday, December 6th, Congressman Mike Garcia tweeted on X that in two days Border Patrol Agents arrested 150 individuals on the terrorist watch list! Over 103,000 Chinese nationals, the majority of them single adult military aged males, have poured into America over the last 35 months of Biden’s term. The first two months of FY24, October and November, CBP has arrested over 16,000. If continued in FY24 and there is no reason it shouldn’t, CBP will arrest more Chinese nationals this year than in the past 3 years combined!
There is no good outcome from this treason and intentional destruction of our immigration system.
In order to understand and grasp the reality that is occurring daily on our southern border, you must know that the border is a place separated from hope. The border is a place that is filled with desperation. The border is a place of pain, suffering and violence. The border is a place that is alive.
Below is an excerpt from my book, Invaded: The Intentional Destruction of the American Immigration System. The passage is from Chapter 1: The Border is Alive.
In order to tell this story of our own government’s effort to destroy the border and the American immigration system, I must tell you that the border is not just a place where people cross from one nation to another. The border is a country all her own. The border is a living and breathing creature, with a personality that is heartless and brutal, for both the criminals crossing the border and for the law-enforcement agents protecting America. The border’s appearance is harsh, dirty, and unsophisticated. The border loves violence and encourages the worst in people. The border has no compassion and shows no remorse for the pain and suffering that occurs on her land. The border tests the fears of the men and women that cross and challenges the Border Patrol Agents to internalize their frustrations and feelings of betrayal into positive actions to secure America’s borders. The border will punish everyone who stands on her. I learned very early on in my career that the border was not my friend, but a place to endure.
When I see an old picture from my Border Patrol career or when a video on cable news shows a large group of illegal aliens running away from Border Patrol Agents, I swear all my senses come to life as if I am transported back to that crazy world. The world of the border is so real and so intense that every aspect of it—from her scent to the colors of the hills, to the sounds and the way my body felt—is still so raw for me.
The air on the border is so polluted that it feels thick, like it is carrying dirt with it. Dust covers everything in a soft, filthy film. The moment you step on the border, you feel dirty. To me it felt like the actual land moved—like a chest moves when it takes in air and then exhales it. This creature did not discriminate against Agents, illegal criminals, smugglers, or people seeking a better life; the only group of people the border seemed to oppress more than others were the weak. All the players on the border hated the weak, including the Agents.
It would not be fair to look at the border from just my perspective, ignoring the other side. Every person that has lived on, worked on, and used the border as a passageway into America has a perspective and a voice in the description of the border. I am assuming, and I could be wrong, that I would not agree much with Dr. Norma Cantu, an associate professor of English at Laredo State University. Not only does she hold a PhD, but she is also a published author of poetry, short fiction, and critical analysis. Dr. Cantu’s article titled, “Living on the Border: A Wound That Will Not Heal,” articulates perfectly the other side’s perspective:
The pain and joy of the borderlands—perhaps no greater or lesser than the emotions stirred by the living anywhere contradictions abound, cultures clash and meld, and life is lived on an edge—come from a wound that will not heal and yet is forever healing. These lands have always been here: the river of people has flowed for centuries. It is only the designation “border” that is relatively new, and along with the term comes the life one lives in this “in-between world” that makes us the “other,” the marginalized. But, from our perspective, the “other” is outside, away from, and alien to, the border. This is our reality, and we, especially we Chicanos and Chicanas, negotiate it in our daily lives, as we contend with being treated as aliens ourselves. This in essence is the greatest wound: the constant reminder of our otherness.
I do not have to agree with the other side’s perspective on any level, but it does not change the fact that their perspective and beliefs are their truth, and this plays a key role in the tension and angst felt on the border. Dr. Cantu is correct in her description of the border as a wound. There has been and continues to be immense pain inflicted by this living piece of earth.
Exactly right, JJ! Very well said. I remember reading that quote from your book as well. It has the same effect on me as well. Our nation is in great peril and it's citizenry is in a deep sleep!
