My grandparents immigrated to the USA in the early 1900s from Sweden. They settled in the Englewood neighborhood in Chicago, and went to work. They learned English as quick as they could. They went to the Swedish Mission Church at 59th & Carpenter. Englewood was a busy and thriving neighborhood. Many busineses. Many children born and raised there. Englewood has undergone a full transformation into a dangerous, run down area. Many businesses. houses, and the Swedish Mission church are boarded up.
Your writing about Englewood brought back some good memories, and it is tragic that today it is a place of anger and despair...when it was for a time a place of hope and promise.

Yes, of course we must do something…but exactly what? We vote, if that even matters, but our elected representatives just sit around and hold hearings that seem to have very little, if any, effect. We are aware and upset, as we watch our country being destroyed by the people who are supposed to protect us.
Voting is utterly useless/waste of time. The UN agenda 2030 has been in place and this country has been taken down and now under their control. We need real alpha men of fighting age to stand up and not allow this in their communities. Problem is there are so few and we are doomed.
Elected representatives do not actually represent us. That is the problem with endlessly waiting for “someone/something” else to fix it for us. I’d learn some self defense skills….protecting ourselves and our families is our job.
I’m known as “The Bouncer” where I work, for good reason. I’ve seen this coming for the last decade. I should have seen it well before but I was buying all the propaganda. Self-defense is an important skill set to learn. Especially here in “Skinny-Jean land”.
